23rdJanuary 2012 – New Kensington Project Commences On Site

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to have commenced our first project with highly regarded Architects, Studio Indigo. The first phase of the project comprises the construction of a new basement under a large private property in Kensington, with further internal phases to follow. The Quantity Surveyors on the scheme are Corrigan Gore Street, while services are by Slender Winter and structures and being designed by Green Structural Engineering.



16thJanuary 2012 – Sizebreed Appoint New Safety Adviser

Sizebreed Construction have reaffirmed our absolute commitment to protecting the health & safety of our staff, clients, suppliers and the public, by appointing OCB Site Services Ltd to work with us in planning, managing and auditing all aspects of our health & safety and training systems. This investment will provide our site teams with increased levels of independent advice in this most critical area, whilst also ensuring that all of our clients are protected in the knowledge that all relevant legislation is being adhered to all times.



17thOctober 2011 – Sizebreed Appoint New Planning Manager

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to have appointed Martin Herridge as our new Planning Manager. Martin will be responsible for planning each of our projects, working closely with our own team and designers to produce coordinated design, procurement and construction programmes, which can then be used as powerful management tools for planning, managing, monitoring and reporting progress on our projects from appointment right through to completion. We are delighted to welcome Martin into our senior management team, as he brings with him a wealth of construction experience, and we are sure he will quickly prove to be a pivotal part of our core team.



10thOctober 2011 – Sizebreed secure two high quality Kensington schemes

Sizebreed Construction have secured two high quality projects in Kensington during the past month. The first project involves construction of a new basement plus internal alterations to a large house on Campden Hill Road. This is our first project with Architects Studio Indigo, while Quantity Surveyors are Corrigan Gore Street, whom we have worked with successfully several times before. The second project involves internal alterations to a high quality house, again in Kensington. The interior designers on this scheme are Studioilse, and again this is our first project with this exciting designer. Our teams on these two new projects will be aiming to create lasting relationships with these designers, by offering each client the highest possible levels of quality, service and value for money at each stage of the process.



15thSeptember 2011 – Sizebreed Continue to be Considerate…

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to be able to say that each of our tested sites has achieved compliance with the Considerate Constructors Scheme in the last year, by scoring well in each of the following eight sections - Considerate – Cleanliness – Respectful – Responsible – Environment – Good Neighbour – Safe – Accountable. This is further confirmation that the hard work of our project teams is paying off, as we aim to drive up standards in our industry and give our clients the highest possible levels of quality and service.



1stSeptember 2011 – Sizebreed Add Two New Trainees

Sizebreed Construction are proud to say that we have employed two new trainees this month, who will be attending college on day release as they aim to add academic qualifications to the vocational training that they are getting on site. This is an important step for us as we aim to train the next generation of project managers, quantity surveyors, etc. It seems ridiculous that we still seem to suffer from skills shortages in our industry, despite the economic climate, when so many young people are out of work. We believe that the only way to address this is to train our own young people and we are delighted to be making such strong progress in this area. Further apprentices and trainees will be recruited in the near future, as part of our continued plan for growth and excellence.



18th July 2011 - Sizebreed Appoint new Engineering Manager

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to announce the appointment of Engineering Manager, Glen Mackay, who joins our team today. Glen has vast engineering experience, particularly in key areas such as temporary works design, underpinning and basement design and construction. Glen will work alongside our director, Ian Jones, in managing the structural and technical aspects of our various projects. This is a huge boost to our team as it increases our ability to manage complex structural works in-house. We are therefore delighted to welcome Glen, and we are certain that he will be a key member of our team for years to come.



20th June 2011 - Sizebreed Secure Palace Green

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to have secured a contract to carry out major works to a substantial grade II listed house on Palace Green, Kensington. The works comprise construction of a new basement, including a new pool, leisure area and bowling alley, together with installation of new services throughout the house, followed by extremely high quality fitting out of all areas. The works are being design by LA-based designer, Brodin Design Build, supported by a local team of Architects Brooks Murray and Structural Engineers Price & Myers, while the new services are being designed by Charles Consulting. The works are being carried out for a private client under a Management Contract, and were secured on a negotiated basis. Sizebreed’s project team will be headed by Senior Project Manager, Matthew Richardson, who is completely focused on delivering the highest possible quality, in the shortest possible time, on this extremely challenging project.

16th May 2011 - New Henley Project to Commence

Works are just about to commence on a new project at Lower Shiplake, near Henley. The project comprises a basement extension and complete updating and refurbishment of a beautiful riverside home. The works are being carried out for a private client, who has used our services several times in the past, and were secured on a negotiated basis.


9th May 2011 - Works to Commence on Berkshire home

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to be starting significant alterations and refurbishment of a grade II listed country house in Berkshire. The project is being carried out for one of our many repeat clients, and was secured on a negotiated basis.



9th May 2011 - Sizebreed Secure Major New Build Country House

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to have been appointed for the construction of a new Robert Adam designed country house in Surrey. The house, which extends to approximately 20,000 ft2, will have natural stone facades to all elevations and will be constructed to the highest possible quality. The project has been secured on a negotiated, design and build basis. Further information to follow.

25th April 2011 - Major Kensington Project to Commence

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to have been commissioned to carry out major basement works, extensions, alterations and refurbishment of a large Kensington house on Campden Hill Road, for a private client. 21st March 2011 - Grade 1 Mayfair Fit Out Secured

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to have been appointed to complete the refurbishment and fitting out of a grade 1 listed mansion house on Hertford St in Mayfair, for a private client. The works have been secured on a negotiated basis and are being carried out under a Management Contract.



20th January 2011 – Sizebreed Construction Joins Forces with Penn Contracting

Sizebreed Construction have reached an agreement to combine their operations with those of Penn Contracting, providing each company with greater resources and flexibility, whilst also reducing administration costs. The deal will see management and administrative staff from both companies transferring to shared offices in Chiswick, West London, where resources such as estimating, procurement, quantity surveying and accounts will be centrally managed. The two companies will continue to trade independently but will share all of their resources, meaning greater flexibility, improved ability to tackle larger schemes and much greater job security for the staff of both companies. Penn Contracting is a well established company, having spent almost two decades successfully serving the high end residential market, with particularly strong links with a number of highly regarded designers and many notable clients. Annual turnover is in the region of £4m. The two companies share a common history, with the owners of both companies being former directors at rival firm Holloway White Allom.



17th January 2011 – Sizebreed Appoint New Procurement Manager

Sizebreed Construction are delighted that Procurement Manager Glen Davies has joined our core team in Chiswick, adding further strength and diversity to our central resource, as our turnover continues to grow. In addition to procuring all of the plant and materials for our projects, Glen will be responsible for procurement of subcontractor services, ensuring that firms are only considered for our projects after they have passed a number of stringent tests and proved their ability to produce the exceptionally high quality work that we undertake. Glen joins us from Holloway White Allom’s Special Projects Division, where he successfully managed the procurement function on many high quality schemes over a four year period. Prior to that Glen gained varied procurement experience at firms such as Botes Building and JJ McGinley Ltd.



14th January 2011 – Sizebreed Joins Considerate Contractors Scheme

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to have been approved for company registration in the Considerate Contractors Scheme. This is an initiative that we fully support as it aims to drive up standards and improve the image of the construction industry with clients, neighbours and the general public. This is also important as it means a better working environment for our employees, and we firmly believe that this consistently leads to higher quality workmanship and greater productivity on our sites. We will therefore be taking this initiative very seriously and ensuring that all of our sites aim to meet and where possible exceed the requirements of the scheme.



15th November 2010 - Sizebreed move to new West London HQ

We are delighted to announce that we have this week moved to a new Head Office in Chiswick, West London. In addition to offering more space and autonomy, our new location is more convenient for our staff, clients and suppliers, since it is located within easy reach of our London projects as well as being located close to the M4, M25, etc., and therefore the growing number of country house schemes that we are involved with. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Randle Siddeley and the rest of the RSA team for being excellent Landlords during the last year. We are very grateful for the assistance that they afforded us during our early days, and we look forward to continuing the excellent working relationships that we developed with them on many high quality schemes in the future.



15th October 2010 – Sizebreed proud to support Dementia UK - Snow White and the Seven Designers

Sizebreed Construction were proud to be able to support the charity Dementia UK last night, when Darren Size and Barry Breed attended the Gala evening of Snow White and the Seven Designers, along with a group of our distinguished guests. The show was thoroughly enjoyable, with a cast that featured many of the top designers in London, including Tim Gosling, Bill Bennette, Joanna Wood, Nina Campbell, Tessa Kennedy, William Yeoward and Stephen Ryan, while the fabulous costumes were designed by the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier and Giorgio Armani. All money raised from the event went to Dementia UK; a national charity committed to supporting families affected by dementia. http://www.dementiauk.org/, and we were very proud to be able to contribute to this worthy cause.



8th October 2010 – New Basement Project to start in Wimbledon

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to have secured a contract to construct a new basement on a prime property in Wimbledon, South West London. The works involve construction of a new basement under the existing house to provide additional space for our clients, with very high quality finishes and complex services installations. The works have been secured in competitive tender. Architects are Buckle Design Associates, Quantity Surveyors are Pierce Hill, while structures are designed by Anders Associates.



20th September 2010: Sizebreed secure West London project

Sizebreed Construction have secured what we hope will be the first of many projects with Chelsea based design firm, Studio Reed. The project comprises internal alterations and fitting out of a property near Chiswick, West London. The works are being carried out for a private client on a negotiated basis.



17th September 2010: New project in North London

We are delighted to announce that The Manser Practice, have chosen to appoint us on a contemporary scheme on a private home, just off The Bishops Avenue, in North London. The works are for a private client and have been secured on a negotiated basis. Our team have successfully worked with The Manser Practice in the recent past and we will be aiming to build on our excellent working relationship on this latest commission.



6th September 2010 - High quality Belgravia project to start on site

Sizebreed Construction are about to start work on our latest project - alterations and improvements to a penthouse apartment on a gated mews in Belgravia. The project has been designed by Architects Weldon Walshe, and comprises complete refurbishment and high quality fitting out of the apartment, as well as installation of a new staircase and passenger lift, to form a greatly improved private access to the property. The project has been secured on a negotiated basis. The works will be managed on site by our latest recruit, Glenn Pickard, who recently joined us from Holloway White Allom, where he successfully managed several similar projects for private clients, in the UK and abroad. Structures will be designed by Heyne Tillet Steel, while the fitted joinery package has been negotiated with Kaizen Furniture Makers.



22nd July 2010 – Anther new arrival at Sizebreed

Congratulations to Trainee Site Manager, Jas Singh, and his wife Lachhmi, on the birth of their baby daughter, Natasha. Jas and Lachhmi were already the proud parents of two boys, Sean and Chris, so the arrival of a beautiful baby girl brings some much needed balance to the Singh household!



20th July 2010 - Sizebreed secure Mayfair project

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to have secured a high quality residential project, for a private client on South Audley St, Mayfair. The works comprise various improvements and alterations to the property, and the project has been secured on a negotiated basis.



30th June 2010 - Careful planning leads to success at Sizebreed

Congratulations to Site Manager Matt Morley and his team, who successfully managed two full days of complex crane lifts this month on our project in Belgravia. The work involved lifting large glass panels over a six storey Belgravia terrace, to form new glazed extensions to the roof terrace and rear of our client's property. Matt worked closely with our specialist glazing subcontractor, Glass UK, in planning these works, and they collectively proved that careful planning is the key to success, as the lifts were all safely completed, exactly as planned, with minimal effect on neighbours or traffic in the area.



17th May 2010: New Addition to the Sizebreed Team

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to announce the arrival of our first baby! Commercial manager Ian Austin became a daddy for the first time on Saturday, when baby Harry was born. Congratulations to Ian and wife Louise. Let’s hope this is the first of many Sizebreed babies!!



10th May 2010 - Sizebreed Secure Prestigious Chelsea Residence

Sizebreed Construction are proud to have secured a contract to complete the fitting out of a prestigious Chelsea residence, for a private client, on a negotiated basis. The project, on Tregunter Road, comprises completion of high quality fitting out across 6 floors, including a subterranean pool. The project Architects are ABA (International) Ltd, while Chapman Bathurst are the services engineers, the structural design is by SKM and Corrigan Gore are Quantity Surveyors. Sizebreed look forward to working with the design team to deliver a new home for our client, on time, to the highest possible quality.



3rd May 2010 – Sizebreed Secure Luxury Marylebone Apartment

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to have secured a contract to refurbish a luxury apartment in Marylebone, for a private client, on a negotiated basis. The design is by Northwick Design, who the Sizebreed team has worked with on several successful projects in the past, and we look forward to renewing our excellent working relationships on this latest commission.



12th April 2010: Sizebreed win repeat business with Colefax and Fowler

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to have secured a second negotiated project with world renowned Interior Designers, Sybil Colefax and John Fowler. This latest project includes high quality interiors work on a prominent Pimlico home, for a private client, secured on a negotiated basis. We are particularly proud that such prominent designers have opted to use Sizebreed to complete another of their high quality projects, and we look forward to continuing our excellent working relationship on this latest commission.



29th March 2010: Sizebreed secure Private Houses in Kensington and Chelsea

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to confirm that we have just been appointed to carry out significant works on prominent private homes in Kensington and Chelsea, both on a negotiated basis, based on referrals from previous clients. Work on both projects will start in the next two weeks. These most recent successes offer further evidence that our declared strategy of providing the highest possible levels of quality, service and value for money to our clients is proving to be extremely successful in establishing the Sizebreed reputation and in securing further high quality commissions.

1st March 2010: Sizebreed secure Belgravia Residence

Sizebreed Construction are delighted to confirm that we have been appointed to complete the construction and fitting out of a prominent private residence in Belgravia, on a negotiated basis. This high spec scheme has been designed by Architects Purcell Miller Tritton, Structural Engineers Price & Myers, and Services Consultants Slender Winter, while the Quantity Surveyors are The Selway Joyce Partnership. This is a major success for Sizebreed and we are very much looking forward to working with our client and design team to complete this project to the highest possible quality.



22nd February 2010: Sizebreed Appoint new Commercial Manager

In another great week for Sizebreed Construction, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Commercial Manager, Ian Austin, to our Senior Management Team. Ian joins us from Holloway White Allom, where he was responsible for the estimating and Quantity Surveying on many of their country house projects, including Tusmore House, Ashley and Stocks House, as well as on several private residences in London. Ian will manage the estimating, procurement and financial management of our projects, focusing on using his skills and experience to deliver maximum value for money to our clients. This appointment completes our Senior Management Team, and means we are now able to manage several multi million pound projects at once. We are therefore delighted to welcome Ian to our team.
